“Join our learning community—enroll at Protea Montessori today!”

Protea Montessori Background

Protea Montessori is an intentionally small and diverse community of learners serving children between ages of 3-9 years old. Our mission is to provide a top-notch Montessori environment that is inclusive of neurodiverse students, equipping them with the essential tools they need to thrive as successful members of society. We are committed to bringing the Montessori philosophy and way of life to lower and  middle income families of color. We believe that all children deserve to have access to a high quality Montessori education regardless ability or financial means. Our environment is designed in a way that allows each child to develop holistically and at their own pace.

Protea Montessori is a member of the Wildflower Network of schools. Wildflower is an ecosystem of decentralized Montessori micro-schools that support children, teachers, and parents. Wildflower aspires to give all children and families the opportunity to choose high-quality, beautiful learning environments as they follow life’s unfolding journey.

The needs of mankind are universal. Our means of meeting them create the richness and diversity of the planet. The Montessori child should come to relish the texture of that diversity.

An Authentic Montessori School

The Montessori Method emerges from the belief that children are naturally good, peaceful and curious and that in the context of a supportive environment, all children engage instinctively in the work of self-construction. With appropriate freedoms and the right support, children follow their interests to create rich learning experiences, form peaceful communities, and support and learn from one another. We are dedicated to the preparation of environments and ourselves to support the development of children.

An Intentionally Small Community

As an intentionally-small, community embedded learning environment, our school allows us to serve every child and family in deep and meaningful partnership with their teacher leaders.
